A Road Apart is a roadtrip involving two characters, an Italian and a Serbian who meet by chance, both travelling back to their homeland to face their two very different pasts.
Set in the Swiss Alps, the story begins at a motorway service station as Boris, desperate to get back to his country having fled the Balkan War over ten years earlier, forces an Italian driver, Filippo, at gunpoint to drive him through Switzerland and over the Italian border.
A Road Apart 2008
Once on the road however, Filippo manages to
overpower Boris. With the tables now turned, we discover that Boris is
not the violent man he at first appeared and we learn that like Boris,
Filippo too is returning to his homeland to see his family after a long
time away.
As the two men continue to talk along the journey,
Boris begins to seriously doubt his own motivations for returning to
his homeland, forcing him to make a decision that will irreversibly
shape his own destiny, as well as that of the daughter he has never
met...
